Die Residenz, Part II - 1635 A. D.
-------------------------------------------

This is the oldest part of "Die Residenz" an administrative complex in Munich. Conceived in 1635 by the famous Architect "von Klenze" and built for the King Ludwig I, this part of the complex has essentially remained untouched.

I snuck in one evening and took this shot of a basically untouched part of this complex before it's getting renovated.

It is in particular the atmosphere that the picture conveys that is so appealing. Not only does it have a relaxing effect on the viewer but the light of a late fall-afternoon and the resulting colors enhance the "old" flair and kind of draw you into another Century with Cobblestone paving and the former gas-lit streetlamps.
