A Pirate's Castle
-------------------------------------------
Aruba's first inhabitants were the Caquetios Indians from the Arawak tribe, and it is said they date back to about 1000 A.D.
Some centuries later, between the time where the first European landed on Aruban shores, and before Spanish explorer Alonso de Ojeda arrived about 1499, Aruba was home to some notorious Pirates.
These are the remains of a Pirate's Castle at the North Shore of the Island.
